After William died 1874 Amanda married Nathan Barnes. Unknown at this time if Nathan Barnes died or if they were divorced. One child was born named Midget, according to Census. Amanda then married James Harvey McCaslin 1883 Barry County, Missouri. Adivorce was filed by Amanda 22 Oct 1888. There was one child born 1885, named Nellie Mae McCaslin out of this marriage. Amandadied 1889. Don't know who took the children after Amanda died. I'm trying to track Amanda's life before and after marrying William Alberty and after his death.
The reason I'm saying this is: 1. Got a copy of Clara Belle Devers (Sheets) Birth Certificate. On it there was an "Affidavit of Aunt- NellieM. Crippen, Centralia, Washington" dated Feb 1, 1961. I went on the Internet and found a relative of Nellie M. Crippen (Nellie had passed away) looking for information on Nellie. 2. I then got a copy of Nellie Mae Crippen's (maiden name McCaslin) SS5 form from the Social Security Administration. It states that Nellie McCaslin's parents were James Harvey McCaslin and Amanda Hallford. Nellie was born 18 May 1885 Sarcoxie, Missouri, Jasper County. 3. After searching all available information I have come up with the information listed above.
Obituary Amanda (Halford) Alburty McCaslin, 12 Sept 1889 Neosho Times:
Ritchey, Sept 9.
Mrs. Amanda McCaslin died on Monday morning at her home, four miles east of here, after a lingering illness of six months with catarrh, and was buried at the Humphrey cemetery on Tuesday. She was formerly the wife of Wm. H. Alburty, second son of Henry Alburty. Shewas a member of the Babtist church.
