JOHN BIGELOW, a blacksmith of Watertown, was born in England in 1617.His first wife was Mary Warren, daughter of John Warren (76A).The record of their marriage, which took place on October 30, 1642, is the earliest in the Watertown records.Mary was born in England and died at Watertown on October 19, 1691.Bigelow took the oath of fidelity in 1652, and he was selectman in 1665, 1670, and 1671.He and Mary had at least twelve children, of whom Sarah, the ninth, was born September 29, 1659, and married Isaac Learned (75).Bigelow's second wife was Sarah Bemis, whom he married on October 2, 1694.He died at Watertown on July 14, 1703, aged eighty-six, leaving an estate inventoried at£ 627.
