Notes for Thomas Jefferson Witten, JR:
Served in State Legislature from Tazewell county, Virginia. Ensign under Capt. Thomas Martin, Revolutinary War. Thomas, Jr., James and Jeremiah were Revolutionary War soldiers. Thomas, Jr. became an Indian fighter, served in the Montgomery Co., Militia as an Ensign and married his cousin Eleanor CECIL, settling at the east end of Paint Lick Mt. He represented Tazewell Co. in the VA General Assembly in 1801-1903 and received a pension for his services in the Revolution, according to the National Archives.
