This family tree was compilied by Irene (Barnabe) Butra. It was done over a number of years as time permitted. It is through her dedication that I was able to take her complied notes and transcribe them for this site. Most of her research took place at the St.Boniface College and St. Boniface Library in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Mom was interested in her heritage and took great pride and joy in tracing her roots back to the some of the first French settlers who settled in Quebec. A number of women from out past were the "King's Daughter". Pierre Martin who settled in Port Royal, Nova Scotia and became known as Acadians was also one of first settlers in that are and his life is well documented. | Marjorique Barnabe / Marie Louise Arel Updated September 11, 2001 |
