Mary Cashman (b. Bet. 1831 - 1835, d. August 29, 1892)
Notes for Mary Cashman:
Mary shared the same address as Timothy as per JC Directory.
There is some indication that the Cashman's emmigrated to JC as well. On 1/61869 an Ellen Cronin was born to David & Julia Scanlin (Scannell?); sponsors were Wm Cushman (Cashman probably) & Mary Cisk.
See note for William Cuff.
1870 Census lists her as 37 giving a birthdate of 1833.
Death Certificate lists her as 61 in 1892 giving a birthdate of 1831.
Obit & Death certificate note that she is the wife of the late James Cuff. My guess here is that William Cuff was William James Cuff and that he was known as James or the name given could be incorrect. Mary is actually buried with William Cuff (elder) and the children of William Cuff and Mary Dennehy at Holy Name. This indicates a very close relationship and is virtually definitive..Irish marriage records state that Mary Cashman was married to William Cuffe.
She died of Cardiac Disease according to her obit and was 61 at time of death according to Holy Name.
Death Certificate indicates that she was born in Ireland and had been in the U.S. for 25 years. This would put emmigration at about 1867 which is very close to when John Dennehy emmigrated. This leaves the question: Did they emmigrate together or is this a coincidence?
The Death Certificate also indicates that she had lived in NJ for 23 years meaning that she probably came from Piermont to JC around 1869/1870.
Mary is listed as wid William.
Living with son, William.

Marriage Notes for Mary Cashman and William J. Cuffe:
Witnesses were: Mulloy, John & Omitted, Catherine. Note: I wonder if this Catherine wasCatherine Power which would make William Cuffs parents the William Cuff/Catherine Power family from Tallow. Another possibility would be Catherine Cuffe born to Richard and Eleanor Morrisy which would mean William is her brother.
