C 16th Pennsylvania Infantry National Guards in Bradford.Later transferred to Company B. in Oil City, Pennsylvania.Dad was drafted on August 5, 1917 and had his basic training in Augusta, Georgia.Dad was later attached to battalion headquarters of the 112th Infantry as a scout and was promoted to Sergeant.He had an enviable war record as a combat infantryman, seeing action in several major campaigns.The Pennsylvania 112th Division was known as the "Keystone Division", Insignia, a red keystone.
