Auke Wyckoff (son of Garret G Wyckoff and Altje Leffertsen) was born October 29, 1748 in Flatlands, Long Island, King, NY, and died April 26, 1820 in Shrewsbury, Monmouth, NJ.He married Sarah Schenk on December 29, 1769 in Monmouth Co, NJ, daughter of Gerrit Schenk and Jannetje Couvenhowen.

Auke Wykoff was a Col. in the Revolutionary War according to the Patriot Index of the D.A.R.
Wol #1 of the D.A.R. His name was spelled Wikoff, From NJ
His is buried in Polhemus Cemetery in Colt's Neck, near Trenton Falls, NJ
From the records of the Adj. Gen office in Trenton; Auke Wikoff was commissioned a second Major, Monmouth Co., NJ Militia, March 6, 1776; Lt. Col. Third Regt., Monmouth Co. Militia, July 23, 1776, taken prisoner at TInton Falls, NJ on Jun 9, 1779 and was a prisoner of war in September 1780 during the Revolutionary War.
Is buried at Scobeyville in the Lefferts or "Polhemus" Graveyard at Colt's Neck, NJ
His stone reads:In memory of Col. Auke Wikoff
who departed this life April 26, 1820,
in the 72d year of his age.
