The 1850 Pennsylvania Census shows a family by the name of CURTIN, on page 7309,827-399 Pottsville, PA. Timothy,Age 35, born Ireland, Occupation: Laborer. Sunora, Age 35, born Ireland. Patrick, Age 11, born Ireland. Catherine, Age 6, born Pennsylvania. MARY, age 4, born Pennsylvania.Timothy, Age 2, born Pennsylvania.Aunt Elizabeth said that our Mary Curtinwas born in that area, so it can be assumed that this Mary Curtin is our ancestor, as she would have been 22 years old when my grandfather was born in Kingston, NY in 1868. She apparently died prior to 1874, as John Darcy and Jane McSorley hand their first child, Michael in that year. Aunt Elizabeth stated the MARY is buried in the Pottsville area.
