She was born or baptised on the 26th November 1848 in the parish of Eaglesham. She was the daughter of John Campbell, a ploughman, and Jane/Jean/Jeanie Rankin(e). At the time of the 1851 census she was living in Eaglesham with her parents, brother (John 9) and sister(Janet 7). The transcript is not available. She was not living with her parents at the time of the 1861 census. She married John Craig on the 2nd February 1866 at Hellcroft Place(?) in the district of Tradeston, Glasgow. Her occupation at marriage was a farm servant. At the time of the 1871 census she was living in Milngavie, New Kirkpatrick, Dunbartonshire with her husband, sons (Thomas 2 and John 5 months) and daughter (Jane 4). Jane was born in Cambusnethan. At the time of the 1881 census she was living in 322 Caledonian Rd, Cambusnethan with her husband, 4 sons (Thomas 13, John 10, Peter 8 and Robert 4) and 3 daughters (Mary 6, Jessie 2 and Marion 1 month). On this census her birthplace was given as Eaglesham, Renfrew. Thomas was born in Cathcart, Renfrew, John in Milgarie (Milngavie?), Dumbarton and Peter in Glasgow. The rest of the children were born in Wishaw. At the time of the 1891 census she was living in Castlehill Cottages, Cambusnethan with her husband, 2 sons (Thomas 22 and Archibald 1), 5 daughters (Jessie 12, Marion 10, Maggie 7, Katie 4 and Agnes 2) and a granddaughter (Jeanet 4).At the time of the 1901 census she was living in Miller Street, Wishaw with her husband, 2 sons (Peter 28 and Archibald 11), 3 daughters (Marion 20, Katie 14 and Agnes 12) and granddaughter (Jane 5). Her birthplace on this census was Eaglesham and was aged 53. She died at 3.50pm on the 22nd August 1909 in Miller Street, Wishaw aged 59. The cause of death was cardiac failure. Her husband’s occupation at this time was a carter (foreman).
