| Notes for Joseph Fellows:|
Joseph fought with the Continental army at the Seige of Boston during the Revolutionary War. He was under Capt Titus Slater's Co., Maj Hacketts' Battalion. He was an Ensign in Preston's Co. He died on a prison ship in New York Harbor.
The following information concerning a Joseph Fellows was found in Public Records of the Colony of Connecticut 1780-81 page 419;
"Upon the memorial of Joseph Fellows of New London, owner of the sloop "Two Brothers", burden about 18 tons, well found, and that in Jan 1780, he was on a trip to New York City as a cartel for the exchange of prisoners by the order of Commissary Ledyard, in an unfortunate storm, he lost his sloop and company." He was paid 120 pounds for his loss.
Researchers note: This may have been Joseph above as his brother,Elnathan was also a captain who was moving refugees from the New York area about the same time. The name of Joseph's ship "Two Brothers" seems to substantiate the connection.

Notes for Isaac Fellows:
Isaac was born and died in Connecticut. Isaac was a good friend of Joshua Hempstead of New London. Joshua was one of the original founders of the town. Isaac helped build the Hempstead house which is now a historical landmark of New London. Joshua kept a meticulous diary for over 47 years in which he details daily events in New London. Specific entries which talk about Isaac Fellows are as follows;
Friday, March 30, 1744. A smart storm of rain and high wind last night and inthe foren, afternoon fair. I was home all day. Isaac Fellows helped me make a bed for daughter Minor.

DAR records claim he was the Isaac Fellowsfrom Bolton, CT, who mustered for the Alarm at Lexington.
This claim for Isaac Fellows (1719-1806) of Stonington, CT to have been the man from Bolton who mustered for the Alarm is suspect. Stonington is 40 miles south of Bolton and in county of New London. Isaac Fellows (1731-1776) lived in Tolland, CT., Tolland Co., just 6 miles north of Bolton, CT., Tolland Co. at age 14 in 1775 then moved to Woodstock, CT before 1759, a distance of 25 miles from Bolton. the proximity works in the favor of the second Isaac as does his age. The first Isaac would have been 56 years old at the muster in Lexington. The second Isaac would have been 44 years old. Additionally, the family story related by Isaac Fellows' (1731-1776) son Adolphus to his own grandchildren, about taking his father Isaac and brother to the Lexington muster helps substantiate the case for him being the man who mustered from Bolton.
