335.Obil6 Fellows (Ephraim5, Ephraim4, Ephraim3, William2, Willyam1 Fellow)1339 was born Dec 22, 1742 in Canaan, Litchfield Co., CT1339, and died Mar 15, 1809 in Onodaga, Onondaga Co., NY1340.He married Ursula Lois Plant1341 1768 in Bradford, New Haven Co., CT1342, daughter of James Plant and Bathsheba Page. She was born Feb 06, 1748/49 in Bradford, New Haven Co., CT1342, and died Apr 21, 1833 in Marcellus, Onondaga Co., NY1342.
Notes for Obil Fellows:
Obil enlisted to fight in the Revolutionary war on Jan 24, 1776. He fought in the Continental Army with Capt John Stephen's Company, Col Burrall's Regiment during the Northern Expedition of 1776 to take Quebec and force Canada into an alliance with the the colonies. Obil's group were separated from the main party at the "Cedars" forty miles above Montreal where on May 19, 1776 Obil and the other officers and men were taken prisoner by the British. He was discharged Sep 27, 1776.
About 1784 he and his family moved to Huntington, Luzerne County, PA. He was listed among the taxable residents of Huntington in 1796 as Abiel Fellows. The 1800 Pennsylvania Census lists Obil Fellows as living in Luzerne County, PA (Roll no 2, page no 148). In the winter of 1802 the family moved to Onondaga, NY. Obil and Lois are buried in the Fellows Cemetery on Seal Road at the northern end of the Onondaga-Marcellus Town line.
There is some uncertainty about the name "Obil". This was a time when children of Puritan families were customarily given Old Testament names. "Obil" is not found in the Bible. Perhaps his name was "Obal", a variant spelling of the Old Testament "Ebel". Or perhaps it was a form of "Abiel", another Old Testament name, given to his uncle. Some family members contend that it was really "Odeb", a biblical name related to "Obadiah". (Ref; Erwin W. Fellows)

Notes for John Fellows:
John moved to Stillwater, NY around 1762-1764 as did many members of the First Congregational Church of Stonington, CT. There he met and married Eunice. His early home was about a mile west of the "yellow meeting house" in Stillwater, NY. During the most dangerous period of the Civil War the family, like others, returned to Connecticut for safety. John was active in holding religious meetings. He had a hearty hatred of all shams, and was opposed to gaudy and pretentious show, and often abruptly expressed his views, but he was a good man of usefulness and tradition among people. he was pronounced as a "good man", a verdict meaning far more than many high sounding words of praise. (Ref; First Congregational Church of Stillwater, NY)
Listed as a Pvt, NY.The 1790 and 1800 census shows John as living in Saratoga Co., NY. In 1790 he had 1 white male over 16 years, 4 white males under 16, and 4 females in his household. (Ref; 1790 Census, Saratoga Co, NY.)
Church records show that Jesse Seymour applied for a letter of dismissal for John Fellows from the church, but they decided to wait until they knew which town he moved to. Later in records, it stated that John had moved to Fredonia, NY (Church of Christ, and a letter was given Apr 14, 1825. Abigail Fellows, widow of Ezra was also supposed to have gone to Fredonia, NY.
