The Allan E. Fite Family of Knoxville, TNUpdated November 12, 2000
Extensive research has been done about the Fite family and our ancestors. My uncle, Dr. Harley Fite, wrote a book about our branch of the Fite family.More recently my sister, Rebecca Fite Brannan, wrote a much more extensive book, "Leaves From The Family Tree", about our specific family, using the genealogy of my father, McKnight Fite, and my mother, Dorothy Nell Jernigan. In addition, I have spent many hours in research using Family Tree Maker and Norman Davies' book, "The Isles, A History", first published in 1999 by Macmillan of London, England, and then Oxford University Press, Inc. of New York, NY.I have tried to sythesize all of the materials and now have over 6,000 relatives in my family tree.Among those relatives are the Angevin Kings of England, the De Bruce dynastic rulers, the Tudor and Windsor dynastic ruling families, the Plantagenets, the genealogy of France "Outremer", the Capetian and Valois ruling families of France, the Stuart dynastic families, and the Hanoverian ruling families. Many of these families overlap, and many members of one family are also members of other listed families. However, they all come together in my family's history. They lead back previously to rulers in Denmark, Italy, the Roman Empire, and to other ruling families.
