MONAHANS – Barney Calvin Guynes, the brother of several Snyder residents, died Friday, Dec. 15.
Funeral service for Mr. Guynes, 73, was set for 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church in Wickett with Barry Klempnauer officiating. Burial will follow in the Monahans Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Harkey Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 8, 1927 in Patricia, Mr. Guynes was a retired truck driver and a member of the Church of Christ.
A resident of Wickett, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eris Margaret McDaniel.
Survivors include his wife, Cleta Guynes of Wickett; three daughters, Ocie Harbin, Carolyn Stafford and Onetta Landry, all of Wickett; six brothers, J. T. Guynes of Ruidoso, N.M., Billy Joe Guynes, Willie Ray Guynes, Walter Guynes, Tommy Guynes and Donnie Guynes, all of Snyder; two sisters, Edith Sue Lock and Shirley June Slaughter, both of Snyder; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
