Daniel Williamson, immigrated to Pennsylvania under contract work for Robert Taylor in the year 1682.He received 50 acres of land from Robert Taylor for his services, and he also received 50 acres of land from the proprietary for coming as a servant.The whole 100 acres were located in Marple, Oct. 22, 1683.He was in membership with Friends, was unmarried, and probably came from Cheshire, England.In 1685 he married Mary Smith at Chester Meeting PA, and settled in Newtown township PA probably after his marriage.He was a man of considerable influence, frequently represented Chester County in the Provincial Assembly, and in 1727, died while a member of that body.(History of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, From the Discovery of the Territory Included within its Limits to the Present Time, with a Notice of the Geology of the County, and Catalogues of its Minerals, Plants, Quadrupeds and Birds.George Smith, M.D.Delaware County Institute of Science, Philadelphia, 1862.)

Daniel Williamson came from Cheshire to Pennsylvania in 1682 as a servant with Robert Taylor, of Little Leigh in that county, whose daughter he calls "cousin" in his will. His sister Ellen was married to Bartholomew Coppock, of High Leigh, and
another sister, Mary, was the wife of John Howell, of Budworth, all in Cheshire. Howell and wife came over in 1683 in company with Robert Taylor's wife and children and settled in Marple Township. Bartholomew Coppock and wife settled in
Springfield.
Daniel Williamson and Mary Smith declared their intentions at Chester MM 7 mo. 7, 1685 and were approved 8 mo. 5, 1685.
