I am seeking the information of and the encreased knowledge of the GAIENNIE FAMILY and all of its decendants and ancestors. The orignal research of this line was done by my cousin George Gaiennie and wish to thank him for all of his efforts to learn the family history.Much of this was done before the wide spread use of computers, internet and was truly an effort and is greatly appreated. I donot wish to take any credit from him, but seek only to increase through this medium his orignal work. The name GAIENNIE is an invention of the New World in the 1790's.This is when the brothers Urbin and Francois Gaiennie came to New Orleans in the 1790's. Although Urbin and Francois also had brothers and sisters their name remained Gainier as far as is known at this time. In France, the name variations are also spelled as follows; Gagner, Gagnier, Gaigne, Gaigner, Gaignier, Gainier, Gaisnier, Ganier, Gasnier, and Gaynier. In Louisiana, the name variations are also spelled as follows; Gagne, Gaiennie, Gaiennier, Gaigne, Gainnie, Ganier, Gannie, Gannier, Gasnier, and Guenier. Anyone with information that will increase the knowledge base of this research is encourged to contact me so that I may add to the family history and tree. I am also researching my wife's genealogy and hope that someone may have information to help it grow. Anyone with information for her Taylor Sharp Spell McLemore Morgan and Kennedy Wheat Miley line is encouraged to contact me. Thank You.
