Francis Bloodgood, Jr. was a lawyer who specialized in corporation law. He was senior member of the firm of Bloodgood, Kemper and Passmore.In 1896 he commissioned a local architect, Howland Russell to design two adjoining houses in the French Chateau style on a lot on the corner of Knapp Street and Franklin Place in Milwaukee.The home next door was to be the residence of his wife's mother.The mansion, known as the Bloodgood-Hawley home, was restored in 1995 by the Bradley Foundation of Milwaukee.
