Samuel Benton Kingery Gray (b. 28 Mar 1848, d. 08 Sep 1923)

Entered Service december 26, 1863 as a Pvt in 'G' Company of the 123rd Indiana Infantry.Served to the close of waar, discharged August 25, 1865 a Pvt from same Company.Muster February 20, 1901 age 55.Transfered June 19, 1908.Wounded in side at 'Kansas Mountain' .
May have patended a washing machine.Invented by wife's nephew, Robert Palmer.
Came to Oregon in 1890's.First lived at Meichum, OR.Made railroad ties by hand.Felled and hewed with a foot axe.Homesteaded up the Sawtell Rd. before you get to Gully Creek (Molalla Area).Sold homestead and moved to (Wilhoit/Scotts Mill) area to property where Bernards lived.Gray and Mazingo properties were next to each other.
Had Diabetes.Was crippled because of amputation of parts of his legs.Died of complications of diabetes.
Named after neighbor Samuel Kingary who was 65 when he was born.Samual Kingary's wife's name was Elizabeth.
