1782, left each child 1 shilling and his land as follows:
200 acres to brother, Edward Henderson and rest to wife, Henrietta, who was his excutrix.Chilren, Samuel, James,Nathan, (died early) Mary, and Henrietta.Goochland Deed Book 5, pages 424-425 and Deed Book 6, p 501. Richard left minor children. And with the passing of Henrietta, several minor children were orphaned.Samuel and James went to live with our Nathaniel, "Uncle Natty".
On Aug 28, 1749, Henrietta Henderson of Cumberland co, VA by her deed for ...
considerations, "but more especially for the natural love and affection I bear
unto my sons" conveyed the lands devised by her husband to her sons Samuel,
Nathan, and James Henderson, Recorded in Cumberland Co, Will Book 1 pp 131.
The land conveyed is described as 250 acres beginning on the branchs of Great Guinea in Cumberland Co, VA.Our Nathaniel owned a tract adjoining, and which he conveyed to Charles Lee (Lea?) Order Book 2, page 34, Cumberland Co, VA.Samuel, James, and Nathaniel Henderson were residents of Cumberland Co, VA on Feb. 26, 1749.Page 44.
By his deed of 13, Dec. 1758, Cumberland Co, Va Will Book 2, 185, SamuelHenderson of Granville, Co., N. C. Conveyed his interest which he had acquired in the tract aforesaid, to Charles Lee.This deed shows:"it being a part of the parcel or tract of land that was granted to
Richard Henderson by patent, bearing date at Williamsburg, VA, June 30, 1743".
Witnessed by :Nathaniel Henderson and Tyree Harris.
!Children:Children, Samuel Henderson and James Henderson II lived with their
"Uncle Natty" after father's death in 1748. the "Uncle Natty" is the Nathaniel of our direct line.
The aforementioned Jim Henderson, of Norfolk, VA, who has done most of this research has passed on.

To my beloved wife during her life, the houses and plantations and benefit of my land whereon I now dwell, with all the rest of my estate, only a reserve of one shilling sterling to be paid after my decease to my son Richard, Nathaniel,
Edward, John, Anne, Wilson, Tyree, William, Patience, Archabel, James, being 11 in number. (Remaining two children)To my daughter Elizabeth and my son Sherrod after the decease of my beloved wife, all my estate to be equally divided between them, only if my daughter Elizabeth should marry before it should please God to call me hence, then all my lands to belong to my son Sherrod.My daughter Elizabeth and my son Sherrod to be executors.Signed Nathaniel Henderson
