I am researching the Cunningham-Baumgartner/Reilly-Cassidy line on my side of the family and the Gonglik-Armstrong line on my husband's side.My grandfather, Walter V. Cunningham was born in Girardville, Pa on February 7, 1881 (according to his marriage license application). His parents were John Cunningham and Margaret Baumgartner. John Cunningham was a Hotel Keeper in Girardville, PA and died in January 1890.His wife Margaret then married (?) O'Neill who owned a saloon (May have been in Philadelphia).Sometime before 1900, Margaret died in a fall.Walter and his brothers and sister were sent to live with their aunt(?) Barbara (Edward) Montague after their parents died. Several of the boys attended Girard College. The only girl - Mary Cunningham, died at an early age and was buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Girardville (according to her death certificate).I can only assume that her parents, John and Margaret, are also buried there as well. Walter, the oldest son and my grandfather, married Elizabeth Reilly in 1908.They had 5 children:Mary (Walter McCulla), Walter V. Cunningham, Jr. (Dorothy Holt, my parents), Elizabeth (Joseph Lester Nixon), Margaret (Sister Terese Elizabeth, SSJ), Eleanor (never married), and Virginia (Edward Bofinger). My grandmother, Elizabeth Reilly, was born in 1885 in Philadelphia, PA.Her parents were James F. Reilly (the son of John Reilly and Ellen Fitzpatrick) and Mary Cecelia Cassidy ( the daughter of Bernard Cassidy and Elizabeth Gillen. The Gonglik family comes from Slovakia (Austria/Hungary).The first generation Gonglik - Martin, came to America in the early 1900's.He settled in Canonsburg, PA where he married Cecelia Mednansky. They had 5 children:Steven, Michael, John, Martin, and Pauline (Lou Moze). Michael Gonglik (my father-in-law), married Mary Elizabeth Armstrong (the daughter of Thomas Armstrong and Mary Brigid Dobbin)Michael and Elizabeth had five children:Martin, Michael (Geraldine Gibbons), Maryann (John Campbell), Thomas (Carol Cunningham - me), and Joseph (Beatrice Nixon)
