The Grays of Ballylesson, County Down.Updated September 5, 2000 | GaryGray [email protected] |
I am researching my Gray Family history. My ancestors were originally from Scotland. They settled in the Ballylesson area of Drumbo Parish in County Down, Ireland in the early 1600s. My ancestors seemed to be blacksmiths as far back as I can trace. The earliest ancestor is John Grey, who married Margaret Harvey. He was born about 1760. They had four children, William, Jane, John and Margaret. William married Susan Johnston. The Grays lived in Ballylesson and adjacent townlands for over 300 years. |
