Frank was one of the first to shorten his last name to Grose.
Buried by his wife in Bluff Creek Cemetery, Bargersville, Indiana. His tombstone says Frank C. Grose 1851 - 1916.

Elijah Parkhurst was born in Indiana, December 8, 1849, and died March
16, 1931.He was married to Elizabeth Groseclose May 11, 1875.To this union
ten children were born, nine of whom are living.A son, Oscar, departed this
life August 30, 1903, and wife preceded him in death about three years ago.
The children who survive are:Mrs. W. H. Tinsley, Holby, Colorado:Mrs.
John Kilburn, Kansas City, Kansas: Mrs. Orel Chaney, Hermitage, Mo.;
Andrew of Talare, California; Orien, of Monett, Mo.;Frank of Rocky Mount;
and Robert, Dewey, and Goldie of the home.
Mr. Parkhurst was a kind and loving father and a splendid neighbor and
citizen, always honest and upright in his dealings with his fellowmen.He
will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The funeral was conducted at Union Church March 20, by Rev. Robert A
Wood. Burial in Union Cemetery.
