Opdenweyer, as head of the company. As the eldest son, John clerked in his father's Lone Star Sore in Springfield, LA, then as prominently involved in the sawmill business for about 30 years. He died on Oct 3, 1927, in Tampa, Hillsborough County, FL, where he had lived for three years, reported newspapers in Louisiana. His funeral was held in Prairievile, LA, and he was buried in Fleder Cemetery near Port Vincent.
