The TIMLIN Family came from Co. Mayo, Ireland to Mahoning Co., Youngstown, Ohio in 1870. The TIMLIN'S that are directly related are Patrick, Michael and Martin TIMLIN. Patrick was a landowner in Castleconnor, Ballina, Ireland and he is the son of Thomas Timlin. I am trying to connect my TIMLIN'S to others and would appreciate hearing from anyone that has a relative named TIMLIN or knows of the Timlin's. The WEIMER Family came from Bondorf, Wurtemburg,Germany in 1848-1858, to Mahoning Co. Youngstown, Ohio. LODWICK Family came from Germany to Pa, to Trumbull Co. The Diocese of Killala for the baptismal record of my G.G. grandfather, Patrick Timlin, shows that he was born 17 April 1840 and was baptized on 20 April, 1840, in the Church of St. Brendan, Castleconnor by Rev. P. Duffy, P.P. His Parents were: Thomas Timlin and Nancy "Anne" Judge. Sponsors for the baptism are James Murphy and Nancy Murphy. Patrick married Sarah EGAN on 22 January, 1870. At the time of his marriage, he was a landowner of Castleconnor as well as his father, Thomas Timlin. Sarah, Patrick's wife, was the daughter of John EGAN and Eleanor KENNY of Quignashee, (556 Irish Acres, County Sligo, Kilmoremoy Parish, Ballina Poor Law Union)Co. Sligo. They were married in the Roman Catholic Chapel of Ballina, Co. Mayo. Patrick and Sarah EGAN-TIMLIN were in Mahoning Co., Youngstown, Ohio when the 1870 census were taken in June of 1870. I have yet to find their ship record but at the time of the census, they were living with James and Catherine TIMLIN-COLLINS who I suspect was a cousin to Patrick. Patrick arrived at about the same time as a Michael Timlin who married Ellen McEvey in Youngstown, Ohio and Martin Timlin who married Ellen Sweeney in Youngstown, Ohio. I suspect that Patrick, Martin and Michael are brothers. They had lived close to each other and from newspaper articles, church records, and city directories, I can assume a relationship of brothers or cousins. They all resided in Youngstown, Ohio until they died. Patrick died 29 October 1900 of a Paralysis due to a Stroke. Martin died 20 November, 1903 in a street cave-in, where he was working, in Youngstown. Michael died 23 Oct. 1898 on his job at the Brier Hill Iron and Coal Co., Youngstown. He was asphyxiated from lethal gasses and was found dead along with another man. The Timlin Family had many tragic deaths over the years. ___________ | |
