Jacob Detweiler, b. c1711. He died 1 Sep 1786 at Franconia Township, Montgomery County. He was married to Neltgen (Ellen) Kolb, daughter of Martin Kolb on 25 Jul 1738. She was born 20 Jul 1712.3 He deeded 178 acres he received from his father to his son John in 1775. His father conveyed 178 acres in Bedminster twp., (now Plumstead twp.) Bucks County to him in 1742. He bought land in 1746 in Franconia twp., Montgomery County from Abraham and Barbara Reiff and later sold it to his daughter Elizabeth and husband John Meyer. Jacob was living in Franconia twp., in 1747, 1750 and 1785. In 1785 he sold land in Bedminster twp., to his son
John.
1. Magdalena Detweiler, b. 4 Jul 1739. She married Abraham Oberholtzer and lived at Plumstead twp., Bucks Co.
2. Susanna Detweiler, b. 25 Jan 1741. She married Christian Meyer and lived at Franconia twp., Montgomery Co. Christian was dead by 1786.
3. Johannes Detweiler, b. 9 Mar 1743. He died at Bedminster twp., Bucks County in 1819. In his will he wrote in 1817 that he was at an "advanced age". His will was proved in 1823. He was married to Barbara Meyer, daughter of Peter and Magdalena Meyer and lived at Bedminster twp., Bucks Co. His two sons were named as executors of his will in 1817. His will was proved in 1823. Fined at Bedminster, Bucks 1775-76 John Titwiler. He was taxed at Bedminster in 1780.
4. Sarah Detweiler, b. 17 Oct 1745. She married Christian Oberholtzer and lived at Plumstead twp.
5. Martin Detweiler, b. 17 May 1748. He married Maria Moyer, daughter of Christian Meyer of Franconia twp. Martin took over his father's land in Montgomery Co. He died at Gwynedd twp., Montgomery County in 1819. He wrote his will 10 Oct 1811 and it was proved 3 Dec 1819. His wife Maria was still alive in 1811. The
executors of his estate were his sons John and Abraham. He left money in will to the German meeting House. Fined Martin Detwiler at Franconia in 1784-85 and near by Jacob Detweiler. He lived in Franconia twp., in 1786. He was taxed at Franconia in 1780.
6. Mary Detweiler, b. 1 Mar 1751. She married Jacob Moyer and lived at Lower Salford Twp., Montgomery Co. They lived at Franconia in 1786.
7. Hannah Detweiler, b. 23 Mar 1754. She married Henry Oberholtzer. She was single in 1784.
8. Elizabeth Detweiler, b. 17 Mar 1757. She married John Moyer and lived at Franconia Twp., Montgomery Co. John was born 2 Nov 1757 at Springfield Township, Bucks Co., and died at Franconia Township 28 Aug 1833.

Rev. A. J. Fretz, author of "Oberholtzer and Nash Family Histories," 1903, p 201, makes Magdalena Detweiler marry Abraham Overholt, son of Jacob Oberholtzer of Plumstead Twp., Bucks Co., Pa., and in a letter to the author of this work he said his authority rested on the records of Mr. H.A. Hunsicker of Phila.But how Mr. Hunsicker obtained his recors has not bee learned.
The Detweilers settled in Franconia Twp, as early as 1717, and other continuous residents thereof as were also the Moyers and Oberholtzers.
