Notes for Frederic Dinkel:
Farmed and had a meat market in Long Prairie, MN. He was a Catholic and came to the U.S. with his parents and lived on a farm homestead near Long Prairie, MN in 1867. Frederick came to Long Prairie, MN about 1873. He lived on the farm ne arly all his life, although he also had a meat market in Long Prairie. He was a n avid hunter and an excellent marksman. When cutting wood, his rifle was alway s near at hand. He shot deer, bears and wolves. The meat was consumed by the fa mily while trophies and rugs were mad from the hides and heads. Frederic died o f what was diagnosed at that time as stomach cancer. He was buried from St. Mar y's Church in Mt. Carmel Cemetary.
