Society News: Fortieth Wedding Anniversary
New Market, March 6--The fortieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Will H. Buser was celebrated on Wednesday, March 5, 1930, at their home here with a 7 o'clock dinner, at which their children, grandchildren and brothers and sisters were present.
The long table in the dining room was laden with a feast of good things to eat and was served cafeteria style. The guests were seated at small tables throughout the rooms. The table at which the honor guests sat was lighted with tapers in rose colored holders and centered with beautiful flowers, a gift from Martha Winnifred Doyel to Mrs. and Mrs. Buser with her congratulations. At this table also sat Mrs. Eva Easley, whose marriage occurred on the dame day as Mr. and Mrs. Buser's which date was March 5, 1890, also Mrs. Lou Beckner, sister, and Bobby Lee Buser, the youngest grandson.
Mr. and Mrs. Buser were remembered with a number of appropriate and beautiful gifts.
Those present who offered congratulations and enjoyed the evening were: Mrs. Albert A. Miles of Lowell; Mrs. Lou Beckner of Indianapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Buser and son Bobby of Waveland; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller and son Ralph of New Ross; Hazel Buser and Mrs. Eva Easley of Crawfordsville; Jhn Buser, Mr. and Mrs. Ard Buser and Mr. and Mrs. CharlesBuser and son Cline and Misses Lillie D. and N. Gertrude Miles of this vicinity.

50th Anniversary of Will Buser and Wife on Tuesday, March 5
New Market, Feb. 29--Mr. and Mrs. Will Buser will quietly observe their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Tuesday, March 5, 1940. A family dinner on Sunday, March 3 will celebrate the occasion.
Mr. Buser is the son of William H. and Sarah E. Buser, both now deceased, and he was raised within a mile of his present residence.
On March 5, 1890, at ten o'clock at the home of her parents William H. and Mary L. Miles in Brown's Valley, Emma T. Miles became the wife of Will Buser, at a marriage ceremony read by Rev. John M. Kendall, pastor of the Baptist church of that place, and in the presence of a group of relatives and friends. Among those present at the wedding and are now living are Mrs. Lou Becker, sister of Mr. Buser, who now lives at Frankfort Ind., Miss Lillie D. Miles and Miss N. Gertrude Miles of New Market, and Albert A. Miles, of Lowell, Ind., sisters and brother, respectively, of Mrs. Buser, and miss Myra Todd Maddox of Louisville, Ky., a cousin of Mrs. Buser and Mr. and Mrs. George T. Williams of Crawfordsville and Jesse McMullen of Marshall, Ind.
Immediately following the marriage ceremony which made this couple man and wife, on that day, they went to the home of the Buser family, near New Market, where the groom's sister, Nancy Evaline Buser became the bride of Charles W. Easley, and where the two couples and their guests were entertained at a wedding dinner.
This worthy couple are the parents of Lee Roy Buser living at New Ross, Mrs. Mary Esther Steele of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Hazel M. Milligan of Crawfordsville and also, of John Clyde Buser and Ruth Buser Miller and Ralph Buser, all deceased.
Mr. and Mrs. Buser are grandparents of Ralph C. Miller, son of the deceased daughter, Ruth Buser Miller, and also Robert Lee Buser, son of Lee Roy Buser both of New Ross.
They raised their family in the vicinity of New Market where the first five named children graduated from the local school. Their son Ralph died in infancy.
Mr. and Mrs. Buser lived about nine years in the Brown's Valley community, where they belonged to the Baptist church and since living in the New Market community for about forty-one years, they have belonged to the New Market Baptist church, where they now attend.
Mr. and Mrs. Buser have engaged in the pursuits of farming all these years living for about 37 years on farms within a mile and one-half east of this place.
