The 1900 census for Chelsea Township lists Susan as aged 60, born March 1840, and as having had 4 children with 2 living. There are three children that were born to Susan and John Smith with just Addie Belle Smith living beyond infancy.Sallie Griffin was Susan's child from a previous marriage and this Sallie was born 2/25/1860.This indicates that Susan's first two husbands, Dillon & Griffin, may actually be just one man named Griffin.

Notes for JAMES RICHARD HARRISON WILLIAMS:
Maggie [Ironside] was adopted into the Cherokee tribe when she was around 30 I think. She lived in Kansas for a while to take care of her father. He had an accident while riding to Kansas City and nearly froze to death anyway he lost his arms and legs and Maggie had to take care of him.She was married to Pleasant Jarvis before Harrison and had 2 children named Ellen and George. They were adopted into the Cherokee Tribe also. Maggies ID # is 435 listed A.S. 1/4 she is called a freedman according to court records so this may be why you can't find it.My mother says that Harrison was a U.S. Marshal for Ochealata, Claremore and Chelsea area. My mother has pictures of him with his badge on and with other marshals. She says that he may be buried in Ochealata. He, Maggie and all the kids lived in Chelsea for a while. When my grandmother Amanda was born Harrison was around 70.He and Maggie died and grandma, leonard and the youngest Emma(aunt sigh) went to the orphanage in Tahlequah. The oldest Emma (Babe)lived in Chelsea. She eventually got my grandmother Amanda, Leonard and Aunt Sye out and took them to Chelsea where they lived with her and helped her run her restaurant. The house they lived in is still there. So both Emmas live quite awhile.I think the oldest Emma was quite a bit older than the others. All of the kids had nicknames. My grandmother's was City because she liked going to town and didn't like living in the country. My mom knows all the nicknames.
