On the Drennen listing for Saline District, family# 468, Joseph is listed with his children, Richard and Ah-na, and there is another name in the list of Per-la-gie C Martin which may be a wife or a child.Could Per-la-gie be his daughter Polisha Martin? Polisha's brother Alexander isn't on Saline 468 with them but there is an Alexander Martin listed with the family of Joseph's sister, Susannah (Martin) McNair on Saline 469.
During the Civil War two battles were fought at Big Cabin Creek close to Joseph's plantation called "Greenbriar".Joseph took part in both skirmishes as a member of Stand Watie's command.
