Notes for BROTHER OF PUMPKIN BOY: 1842 Cherokee Claims, Skin Bayou District, claim of Katy Spencer nee Pumpkin; Katy states that she lived with her uncle after her father died, and that he died c1816. [It's quite possible that the unknown uncle that Katy mentions here is actually Doublehead and that she got his death date incorrect.] The Moravian Diaries in describing the death of Doublehead in 1807 also mentioned that an unnamed brother of Doublehead escaped the assassins at that time; so this may be the uncle that Katy stayed with.
