Notes for JOHN RIDGE:
John was stabbed to death in front of his wife and children by a group of masked Cherokees at the same hour that his father, Major Ridge, and his cousin, Elias Boudinot, were also being assassinated at other locations. The alledged murder weapon is on display in a museum in OK.

George's mother operated a tavern at Auria in the Cherokee gold region; the tavern was later purchased by Jarrett Smith.
LT George Paschal was an aide to General Winfield Scott during the Cherokee Removal.
Stand Watie's defense attorney in 1842 (the killing of James Foreman), later a Justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court, a compiler of the Laws of the State of Texas, and a founder of the Georgetown Law School in Washington, D.C.
