Alfred Stoural (b. August 21, 1921, d. September 01, 1941)
Notes for Alfred Stoural:He lived a short life span on the farm having received his education in the home district.He completed his 8th grade work.He was a bright, energetic and resourceful boy.He worked hard, was neat and thourough in all his tasks.He was kind and cheerful, and sympathetic to all his fellow men and never offended anyone.He was of an unselfish nature and did not care for extravagent things in life.
Alfred loved nature, he loved the farm and all the animals were pets to him.He was studious, learned easily from books and was mechanically inclined.Because of this, he was handy with tools and in repairing anything as it needed attention.
One winter in the 1930's a snow storm with heavy snow that closed the roads for several days.His father had to get the road crew to plow the road open so he could take his son to the hospital in Norfolk as he was gravely ill with a ruptured appendix and infection.It was frightful, painful and unpleasant experience he had to endure.With re-occurring problems, he had to return to the hospital several times.
Alfred was not feeling well after the harvest of that year and grew weaker until the time of his death.He was told on Saturday, he was to return to the Dr. and possibly to the hospital.The following Monday, Sep. 1, 1941, he took his own life.
His untimely death, brought an end to his abilities he distinctly manifested and which had just begun to blossom forth.
