The Holbrook/Black FamilyUpdated October 22, 2004
Since the last update I have been working the Black side a little more. Please feel free to check that out.
Sources:I have relied on many sources for this HOLBROOK/BLACK family database including personal and public and want gratefully acknowledge the work of the individuals named below. For, without their work, this would certainly be a slim tree!
My great uncle, Fred Burton CARTER his superb genealogical work on the CARTER/CLARKE side was finished in 1980.
And, my uncle Dennis V. HOLBROOK whose unmatched work has been quoted herein. Virtually all the information in this database on the HOLBROOK side from W. Veril & F. Lorraine backwards is his work.
The staff at the Idaho Historical Museum also get a thumbs up for their help and patience. Though I do not know you by name, I owe you a debt of gratitude.
I have benefited from countless un-named individuals whose work appears in countless websites around the world. To you all, I extend my thanks.
Rootsweb.com & Ancestory.com have also figured into the picture. They have been a primarily source for BLACK family ancestor data thus far.

This picture was taken about 1951, probably in the family home at 450(?) Whitman in Pocatello, Idaho. Pictured are Roy & Stella, John R. & Dorothy M. and all of their children.
- Roy L. Black (17 KB)
This picture was found in a book, "A History Of Idaho, Gem Of The Mountains", by Hawley. It is likely his official portrait for the office of Attorney General for which he was elected in 1918.
