| ||Notes for Harris Horn:|
See Ray Horn Book, p 476.
Harris Horn chose his uncle Jacob as guardian, after the death of his father, Joel, in 1793.
From Nash County deed abstracts: "DB6- 504Harris Horn of Nash Co to Henry Thorp of same.Oct 27 1800.For 607 dollars all his right and title to the lands which his father Joel Horn, deceased, owned at his death and which were then undivided.He gave said Thorp full authority to act in such a manner as to obtain a 1/5th part of the whole when the division should take place. Wit: Jh. Hilliard and Joel Battle."
Harris Horn's wife Martha Grice, had two sisters, each married to sons of Jacob Horn.Jeremiah Horn married Elizabeth Grice, and Thomas Horn marred Ann Grice.It appears that after the death of Harris Horn in 1844, his widow, Martha Grice Horn, married her late sister Elizabeth's husband, Jeremiah.
It is not certain whether the Harris Horn who died in Sumpter County AL in 1844 is this Harris Horn, the son of Joel Horn and Ann Harris, or whether he is the the grandson of Jacob Horn and son of Jacob's son Thomas.This matter, which has apparently long been problematical, is extensively discussed in the Ray Horn book, pp 167-170.
