MARSHAL HUNTER ANCESTORS AND DESCENDANTS
I am researching the William Hunter of Northumberland, England (1650) family descendants.I started my research with my father, Marshal Hunter, son of Charles R. Hunter descended from William Hunter of Northumberland through his son Nicholas (abt 1684).Like everyone else, I think I have it all sorted out and then find more info with discrepancies in dates, places, etc.
Marshal Hunter and his siblings were born in the Fredonia/Oak Plains area in Cheatham County, TN, where he lived most of his young adult life until after his marriage to M. Louise Neblett. They had three children, twins--Patrick and Patricia, and a son Fred, while living in Tennessee.About 1941Marshal and his brother Louis Gold moved our families to Canton, Ohio.In 1946 the last son, Marlan was born.
He and Louise lived in Canton until after his retirement from The Timken Roller Bearing Company. They then moved back to Clarksville, TN, to be close to family and the place they always considered home. Here theyremained until Louise'sdeath in 1982.Marshal lived his last 18 months in Columbia, SC, with his son Fred. Both are bured in Clarksville even though the Hunter Cemetery is in Cheathem County.
All of Marshal's siblings are deceased, and only one spouse by marriage remains living...Edna Hunter who was married to Robert Darwin. She lives here in Knoxville, TN, and has been a great help in providing me with documentation and information about the Hunter family.
Marshal and Louise have 10 grandchildren, and there are now 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
His ancestors date back to King Edward I of Plantagene. He is the 6th Cousin, 3 Times Removed, of Henry Clay (Secretary of State under President John Quincy Adams...1824).You will find these connections in the links below.
Recently I gained possession of William Carroll Hunter's wallet (Marshal's grandfather). It contains original letters he received from family as well as his will.I have created a Homepage for those who might be interested in reading these...the link is below.
There is also a Homepage for his wife Margaret Louise Neblett.
If anyone has information on Sophronia Moseley, Marshal's grandmother, please share.Would like to know about her first marriage to Richard Blount Walker and their children. Also curious about her heritage...have been informed she is part American Indian.Anyone know?
I need help in finding the Rudolph ancestors. Can you help?Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
