My Miller/Brown Family PioneersUpdated January 25, 2007
My mothers' family are made up of the early pioneers of America. The five main families are the Cooley; Carter; Brownfield; Brown and Millers. The Cooleys are traced (possibly) from Holland; the Carters from early Virginia; Brownfields from Scotland/Ireland and the Millers from German Pennsylvania where we have gone back to 1758 Chester County. We have not been able yet to prove Abrahams parents. The Browns are of Indian blood originating in Georgia it is believed with the Browns being from possibly Ireland and marrying into the Cherokee tribe in Georgia. Hopefully with several researchers working on this brick wall, we will discover these origins of the early families.
We can use any help in locating the parents of Abraham Miller in early PA or surounding states so we can continue backwards in time for this family. It is possible that our Millers are Irish and not German as originally thought.Proof from records of the early Cooley line and of course, the Indian line of the Browns are also looked for.
Our Miller researchers are at present Gary Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org in CA and Hal Miller at email@example.com in OR and of course yours truly, R.M. Hunt in NH. Gary has been working on DNA from male descendants. *We are awaiting results from one or two more to prove beyond a doubt we are all related to Abraham Miller*. FLASH---We now have the results of a DNA test that proves Abraham Miller is our direct ancestor. Hopefully the year 2007 will see us break the brickwall beyond Abraham.
