In Apr. 1649 Thomas Hollowell and his family were transported to the VA colony.They came with 2 small children, Sarah and Thomas.In 1652 he received 650 acres for transporting 13 people.
Thomas was very active in early Quaker matters in Nansemund, VA.In 1672 George Fox visited and suggested that the general meeting be held at the home of Thomas Hollowell.This 1672 meeting is considered to be the first VA general meeting.

The last will and testament of Thomas Hollowell, Senior of Lower Norfok Co. being sick and weak in body but in perfect mind and memory I do make this my last will and testament following:
1stly, I do bequeath my sould to God that gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried and my worldly goods as followeth:
2ndly I do give unto my sonne Henry Hollowell all the land he now liveth on.....
3rdly I do give unto my loving wife Alce Hollowell my plantation I now liveth on and all the rest of my land that I have not given away...after her decease I do give the said land to my sons Edmond Hollowell and John Hollowell.....
4thly I do give unto my sonn Thomas one cow.
5thly, All that is left of my estate I give unto my loving wife Alce Hollowell and after her decease what is left to be divided equally among my 5 sons and 3 daughters herein named to say:Henry, Joseph, Benjamin, Edmond, and John and my daughters Sarah Howard and Elizabeth and Alce ......
Lastly I appoint my wife executrix and my sonn Henry executor.
