Amherst Co., VA Deed Book I, p. 117: 15 Oct. 1778, deed of Joell Crawford to
Jno Page, Jr. of Henrico mentions "Rucker's Run & Hatt, on line of Benj.
In 1736, Benjamin Denny opened an account at the general store of Thomas
Partridge & Co., in Havover Co., VA. Also shopping at the same store were John
Denny, William Mullins and William Suthard. Benjamin purchased spectacles,
perhaps indicating he was already an older man? Benjamin's Partridge store
account entries are as follows: Journal B, pg. 57, Mr. Benjn. Denne. May 6,
1736; July 2, 23 (1 pr hoes dd Samll. Sexton; Nov 5; Mar 25; Apr 25 (1 womans
Ivory Knive & Fork 0.2.0) Credits: Apr 25 1737 (carred to p. 147). April 25,
1737 (brought from p. 57) 1 pr Womens gloves, pd John Yancey; June 3 (pd Saml.
Sexton), 20; October 13 (1 pr Spectacles); January 21: February 20 (Linen dd
Robert Yancey). Credits: August 2 1738 (by Saml Saxon, carried to Journal D,
