Notes for DANIEL CLAFLIN:
     He was a tanner and lived in his native town until some time subsequent to May 25, 1722, when he conveyed to Emerson Cogswell, of Ipswich (for the consideration of L80) his home, bark mill and tan vat, and material for carrying on the trade of tanner, together with about three acres of land.After this he moved with his family to Hopkinton, Middlesex Co., Mass.In the affairs of this town, he took an active and prominent part.He was selectman in 1727.In 1729 he was chosen treasurer of the town, which office he held for several consecutive years.He died in Framington, Mass., 1775 "old and increpid."

Notes for ANTIPAS CLAFLIN:
     When and where he was married and the maiden name of his wife, have not been ascertained.For a few years he lived at Lexington, Mass., where his four eldest children were born.Antipas afterward removed to Attleborough, Mass., where he resided during the remainder of his life.
               WILL OF ANTIPAS CLAFFLIN
     In the name of God, Amen, I Antipas Claffland of Attleborough in the County of Bristol in New England calling to mind that I must shortly dye tho at present injoying a comfortable measure of health & a disposeing mind & memory, blessed by God for it, do make this my last will & testament.
     First I committ my soul into the hands of God hopeing the Father of Spirits will thro his dear son receive my departing spirit, my vile & perishing body I commit to the earth to be buryed at the disscretion of my executt hereinafter named in hope of a glorious resurrection.
     As to what worldy substance wherewith the Lord hath blessed me, I dispose of as followeth, viz:
     Imprimis, To my dear wife I give half the profits of my homested and the improvements of all other my estate within doors and without, real, personal or mixed dureing her life.The profits of the other half of my homested I have given to my son Ebenezer Claffland upon condition that he manure the whole and yield and pay one half of the profits to the ends mentioned in the bargain written between us, praying her to accept the same as a small token of my conjugal affection to her.
     Item, To my son Robert Claffland I give one fourth part of all my substance within door and without & forty shillings lawfull money of the Providence.
     Item, To my son, Noah Claffland I give one fourth part of all my substance within doors and without including as part thereof what I have him when he began to keep house, viz: six acres of land, two of it bought too.
     Item, To my daughter, Sarah her children I give one fourth part of all my substance within doors and without including as part thereof what I gave her at marriage, viz:three pounds old tenr.
     Item, To my daughter, Hephzibeth I give one fourth part of all my substance within doors and without including as part thereof ten pounds old tenr. which I gave her at marriage.
]     Item, to my son Ebenezer Claffland I have given by deed one half part of my homested and my will is that he shall have no part of my estate but what is given him in that deed but be forever debard and excluded from any claim theretoo.
     Item, My will is that my just debts and funeral charges be immediately discharged net after my dissceas.
     Item, I do hereby constitute & appoint my dear son Robert Claffland to be the sole executor of this my last will & testament.
     In witness & confirmation of all which I have hereunto set my hand & seal this sixteenth day of November Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred & fifty-three.
