Even though it it stated there is no evidence of 1812 experience I was sent information that Benjamin did serve in the war of 1812, WO 4338. Affidavit, May 1, 1871, of Martha Jorden, age 71, resident of Haralsen Co., Ga., that her husband was drafted in 1812.Was discharged at Somersville.Fought in Battle of the Horseshoe.Applicant drew tow land warrants.Her maiden name was Martha Smith and she married the soldier 12 January 1814, Washington Co., Ga., by John Curry, J.P.The soldier died 28 December 1848 at home in Carrol County, GA.No evidence of War of 1812 service, did serve in Seminole War.
