"Mathilda (nicknamed Tillie) had a sister, Ester, who married one A. C. Diericx, a wealth marine engineer and ship designer from England.He conjoined a Mr. Higgenbothem (sp) and designed and built the ships of the Matson Line.He was an early investor in the Hawaiian Island, and an one point owned the Honolulu Oil Company.Tillie had a brother, Thomas Carberry of Perth, Ontario, Canada, and a sister (name unknown....but her husband was named Albert Forest).Tom's wife was Clara, and to my knowledge, they had no children.Tillie was raised on a farm, and her parents had migrated to Canada from County Cork, Ireland, during the Great Potato Famine in Ireland during the 1860's."
