"KNARR (KNERR) FAMILY HOME PAGE"
Descendants of Theodor KNOERR (1615-1688), born Nenigkofen, Kanton Solothurn, Switzerland, died Winzeln, near Pirmasens, Pfalz, Germany where he settled after the end of The Thirty Years War circa 1648.Recent DNA findings contain strong evidence that the family may have roots in ounty Cork Ireland with the clan of O'CONNOR.Knoerr and Connor are amazingly close phonetically speaking when you get right down to it.This page has not been updated for 3 and a half years and I need to add updated trees and pictures. We have added several new features to this page (Feb. 2005) which will be described herein. We have most recently added a book on the descendants of Johann Nikolaus Knerr of Walshausen, Germany. We have added three links to the "link section" near the bottom of this page:The first one is a link to ROOTS WEB's WORLD CONNECT PROJECT.I have added several GEDCOMs showing known descendants of some of my ancestors. When you go there you will find some GEDCOMs that I have posted containing the known descendants of two Kentucky pioneers from whom I am descended. The second link is to the Pirmasens Emigration List which is seriously in need of updating as we have found a large number of new emigrants previously missed.Gaby Herold and Bernhard Braun are our contacts in Pirmasens. You will also find a list of genealogical publications for sale including birth, marriage, and death records from the Pirmasens area on their website. We encourage you to check all of these links and please help us with additions, corrections, and updates to the information provided there. There have been two books compiled on the descendants of Theodor KNOERR. These two books also contain descendants of Abraham Knerr of Lehigh County, PA.Recent findings made by John R. Knarr of North Manchester, IN. seem to indicate that Abraham was NOT a descendant of Theodor. For the latest information on the Abraham Knerr family please check the FTM home pages of John R. Knarr and Sandra Hart. They are both excellent. Doris Killick has completed a book on the Knarr Family of Clearfield County, PA.This book also includes many other descendants of Theodor KNOERR.Please check with her and make sure that your family is included before ordering. The book is excellent and a bargain at $29which includes postage, insurance, and handling.Order from the author: DORIS KILLICK, 2102 Beacon Circle, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-6170. You may e-mail Doris at: [email protected] book includes many of the PA Knarr descendants which have not yet been added to this websiteand it is beautifully indexed. The material herein is being changed and added to almost daily so if you have corrections or additions, please contact us with the same.We occasionally make mistakes because of the large amount of information being processed.Human error and memory lapses are a staple of genealogical research. Some things that are posted here are simply inaccurate for one reason or another. If you can help us get the facts straight, please do not hesitate to be a contributor.Thank you. In addition to the persons already mentioned above I owe a great debt to the persons listed below: L | "KNARR (KNERR)FAMILY HOME PAGE" Updated August 10, 2008 |
