Cece's Family TreeUpdated June 28, 2003 | MY PATTIE FAMILY My grandparents were Antonio Joseph (1876-1950)and Marie Patti from Altoona, Pa.Marie was formerly Marie Scarletti or Scarletta(7/7/1890 - 3/24/1951).They emigrated from S. Stefano, Sicily, Italy. Family stories say that Antonio bought Marie in the sense that he paid her passage to the U.S. and she became his wife. Other Members of her family and his also came to the U. S. Their children were Anthony, Sam, Mary (stetter), Frank (my father), Josephine (Vitolo), Angelo, Anna (Wiesinger), and Margaret. Their name was later spelled Pattie. They are buried in Clavary Cemetery, Altoona, Pa. Before moving to Altoona they may have lived in Johnstown, Pa.My grandfather had a brother Angelo who lived in Mass. I may also have distant cousins named Florence, Anna, Josephine, Carmelo and Joe Pattie. They may have lived in Lawrence, Mass. and/or Sicily.I'm looking for information on their life in Sicily and their arrival in the United States. I know they arrived in the U.S. by 1908 since the oldest child (Josephine) was born in Johnstown, Pa. that year. MY HACK FAMILY My grandfather, Henry Ishmael Hack was born about 1877 in Nebo,Pike County, Il. His father was John Henry Hack of Pike County, Il. and his mother was Margaret Windmiller. On October 14, 1902 he married Cecelia Della Hathaway (9/1/1882- 5/1/1933, of Kouts, Indiana.) in the Chicago area. In Chicago Heights Della ran a men's boarding house. They later lived near the Kankakee River in Momence, Il. where Della died. Ishmael was a machinist and a veteran of the Spanish American War. He died in a veteran's hospital near Chicago and is buried in that area. Cecelia Della is buried in Mound Grove Cemetery, Kankakee, Il. Their children were Naomi (my mother), Leonard and Ethel. Through the internet I have traced the Hack family from Pike County, IL. back to Kentucky and the Windmiller famly back to Germany. My HATHAWAY FAMILY Cecelia's parents William Oliver Hathaway (1859-1939)and Ella Rector(1863-1927) were both born in Indiana. Around the turn of the last century they lived in Lemont, Il. They later lived and died in Kankakee County, Il. and are buried in Mound Grove Cemetery. Their children were Cecelia (Della), George, Olive and Louise. Olive married Peter Kolwelter. They had four children John, William, Robert and Glenna (Benoit) Story has it that Louise ran away to join the circus and had a very interestering life. William's father was Abraham Hathaway. He was born in Ohio. Please contact me if you feel you have informtion concerning my family. Thanks for visiting, Cece |
