James Wade was taxed for 150 acres in New Kent County in 1704.
On 24 March 1725, for 35 shillings, James Wade received a patent for 350 acres in Hanover County, Virginia, on both sides of Hollowing Camp Creek. (Patent Book 12, page 356, Cavaliers and Pioneers, Volume III, Neil Marion Nugent, Virginia State Library, Richmond, 1979)
Neighboring land owners were Alexander Snead, George Sims, Benjamin Brownm Charles Snelson, William Pulliam and John Hill. They and James Wade had land adjoining 400 acres in Hanover County that were patented to John Clements on 17 August 1725. (Patent Book 12, page 246)
On 28 September 1732 patent for 400 acres of lapsed land, previously granted to Nathaniel Dickenson on 28 September 1728, was granted to Joseph Moutray. The tract bounded by Wade's line and the land of John Clement. (Patent Book 14, page 480)
