I am researching the Joseph Jehu Copeland (1878-1973) family history.I have information back to William Copeland one of three Quaker brothers (William, James and Thomas) that came to America from England for religious freedom, but need more details. I am researching the following ancestors of Jehu: William Copeland (b.1650-1690, will dated Oct 23,1720) Charles Copeland (d.abt 1760, will dated Aug 10, 1760, wife Mary) Joseph Copeland (March 1800 *see Soldiers note) Thomas Copeland (W-Gulielma Griffin 4/9/1793**see Quaker Note) *Joseph Copeland (W-Lydia Chappell 1/7/1826**see Quaker note) Thomas James Copeland (1826-1917 W-Rachel Ward) Lydia Margaret Copeland (1854-1924 H-Calvin Columbus Copeland). *Another path to Joseph Jehu is; Thomas Copeland Jr. (b.1803 W-Elizabeth Lamb) Rebecca Jane Copeland (1835) or Calvin Columbus Copeland (1860-1930 W-Lydia Margaret Copeland). (*Notice that Calvin Columbus Copeland and Lydia Margaret Copeland were distant cousins.) Families lived in North Carolina regions of Chowan and Perquimans County, Edenton, Ryland, Tyner.Families also lived in Virginia regions of Norfolk, Chuckatuck - Suffolk area, Portsmouth and Isle of Wight County. Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
