Services for Tedd Karr, 76, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 1999, at Crosbyton Frist Baptist Church with Rev. Les Griffin, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Crosbyton Hospital. He was born May 31, 1922, in Crosbyton. He married Beatrice Azalea Brixey on Aug. 1, 1946. She died Dec. 27, 1975.
He was a member of Crosbyton High School in 1940. He was chosen as Crosbyton's Citizen Through the Years in 1980 and as Man of the Year in 1989. He served as secretary-treasurer for the Caprock Peace Officers Association for 10 years and served on the Comanche Trail District of the Boy Scouts. He was commander of the American Legion post in Crosbyton for the past 8 years.
He coached Little League for many years. He was a member of the Downtown Bible class. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 4 years during World War II and saw extensive action in the South Pacific where he participated in five invasions.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Weldon and Olin Edmond, and a sister, Edeith Rowena Blagg.
Survivors include a son, Kelly Karr; one brother, Jimmy Karr and his wife, Wanda, of Crosbyton; several nieces and nephews.

Obituary
An illness spanning several years terminated in death at 6:30 a.m. Saturday for Beatrice (Beat Karr, known and loved by virtually everyone in this area. Mrs. Karr, 48, succumbed in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.
Mrs. Karr and her husband, Ted, resided at White River Lake.
Memorial services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Crosbyton. The Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, and the Rev. Johnnie Williams of First United Methodist Church officiated.
Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery. King Funeral Home directed arrangements.
Serving as pallbearers were Al O'Brien, Bill Marley, Harry Jung, Cecil Fox, Arles Graham, and Eldred Mize. Employees of White River Lake were honorary pallbearers.
Born February 14, 1927, in Wichita Falls, the former Beatrice Brixey and Ted Karr were married August 1, 1946, in Crosbyton.
Mrs. Karr was a legal secretary. She was employed for a number of years by Jung and Marley before failing health forced her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ted Karr; one son, Kelly Karr of Crosbyton; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Brixey of Crosbyton; a brother, Jack Brixey of Crosbyton; and a sister, Mrs. Tessibel Flournoy of Crosbyton.
The family suggests that memorials be made in the form of contributions to Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. Friends are seeking to furnish a new room at the hospital as a memorial to Mrs. Karr. Designated memorials may be made to this fund through City of Crosbyton, First Baptist Church or First United Methodist Church. For further information, persons may contact Bill Marley or Allan Adams.
