My family tree contains some of the following surnames: Mahoney/Mahony/O'Mahony, Ward, Hart, Beaghan, Kirby, Judge, Aikens, O'Neill, Carroll, and Cunningham on the Irish side; and Schoilovitz/Smilovici (aka Dascalu); Goldenberg and Marcovitz/Marcovici, on the Jewish side. My Irish ancestors were from County Cork (O'Mahony/Beaghan); County Sligo (Hart/Judge); Roesborough, County Tipperary(Kirby/Carroll) County Louth (Aikens/Cunningham/Rowe/Roe) and County Leitrim (Ward/O'Neill), they settled in Massachusetts in the following cities and towns: Abington; Brockton; Fitchburg; Marlborough; Randolph; and Taunton. They were mostly boot & shoe workers and tended to reside in cities and towns with shoe factories. A short note on the Aikens family name. While researching this family I have found numerous variations for the spelling of the name: Agan(s); Agin(s); Aikens(s); Aikin(s); Aigin(s); Aken(s); Akin(s); Eagan(s); Eagen(s); Eagin(s); Egan(s); Egen(s) and Egin(s). My Jewish ancestors were mostly from Romania, they settled in Montreal. One or more branches of the Schoilovitz's and the Goldenberg's settled in England. The Schoilovitz's also used the Romanian surname of Dascalu and I have found some instances were they used the hyphenated "Dascalu-Smilovici." I am interested in finding more on the Aikens, Kirby, Rowe and Ward families in Marlborough and Fitchburg, MA; and the Hart family in Taunton, MA.Goldenberg in Montreal and possibly England; and Schoilovitz in Montreal and Manchester & London, England. Any help would be appreciated. I have also included in my tree information for some of the individuals (and their families) who have married into the family. Some of them I was able to find extensive information for others only the bare minimum. But search my tree anyway and you may find information on your own family.
