Last Will and Testament of John Cale

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Cale of the parish of Llanvihangel in the county of Monmouth, Farmer.I give to my daughter Elizabeth, the wife of Thomas Lewis of Blaenavon, Laborer the sum of ten pounds and in the case of her death in my lifetime I give the said sum of ten pounds to her children equally.I direct the said legacy to be paid within three months after my decease.I give all the residue of my personal estate subject to the payment of all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses unto my son William Cale and my daughter Mary the wife of William Jones of the said parish of Llanvihangel Farmer to be equally divided between them, share and share alike and I appoint my said son William and my said daughter Mary Executors of this my Will.I revoke all other wills.In witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand this twenty fourth day of May one thousand eight hundred and forty seven.

William Cale and Mary Jones the Wife of William Jones, the lawful Son and Daughter of the deceased and Executor and Executrix in this Will named were duly sworn as such and that the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased are under the value of Four Hundred and Fifty Pounds Before me.

In the Goods of John Cale deceased,

Appeared personally William Cale of Red House in the parish of Llanvihangel istern llewern in the county of Monmouth, Farmer and Mary Jones (the wife of William Jones of the parish of Llanvihangel istern llewern in the said county, Farmer) the Executor and Executrix of the said John Cale late of the parish of Llanvihangel istern llewern in the said county Farmer, deceased, who died on the second day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight and made Oath that the Estate and Effects of the said deceased, for and in respect of which a Probate of the said Will is to be granted, exclusive of what the said deceased may have been possessed of or entitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons, and not beneficially, and without deducting any thing on account of the Debts due and owing from the said deceased, are under the value of Four Hundred and Fifty Pounds, to the best of these Desponent's knowledge, information and belief.And they lastly made Oath that the said deceased did not die possessed of any Leasehold Estate or Estates for years, either absolute or determinable, on a life or lives to the best of these Desponent's knowledge, information and belief.
