[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 18, Ed. 1, Tree #2345, Date of Import: Dec 10, 1998]
Died of pneumonia. Mike owned and operated the "Rehoboth Stained Glass Shop" in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. He was very proud of the beautiful creations he sold and made for family gifts. He designed custom art pieces and taught classes. He also was manager of the Renegade Restaurant/Lounge in Rehoboth until his death. One of his specialties was to cook holiday dinners for his employees who couldn't go home for the holiday and provide his homemade cream of crab soup for Christmas parties. He was a fun-loving person and always had a crowd of people around for cook-outs and parties. We will always remember his unique laugh and his penchant for pulling practical (but harmless) jokes on everyone. He was always the first to volunteerhelp at home, enjoyed painting and "fixing up." His nickname since babyhood was "Sugarbunny" which he wasn't too thrilled to have his friends discover. His and his brother's death was a tremendous blow to the entire family. One of his last requests was to be buried with his grandfather Lawrence George Jenkins, with whom he shared many a laugh, in Cumberland, MD.
Mike and Steve have a devotional station dedicated to each of them at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA .In addition, they each have a tree planted in their memory at the Chris Brownlee Hospice in Hollywood. They also have a brick layed in the walkway at Harbor Place in Baltimore, MD engraved with their names.
