Christena Hornsby is burried in the churchyard at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Columbia, SC. Her head stone reads:
In memory of Christena Hornsby - wife of Henry Hornsby dec'd - who departed this life August 16, 1859 - aged 89 years, 7 months, & 4 days - "why should our tears in sorrow flow when god recalls his own, and bids them leave a word of wo for an immortal crown. Is not even death a gain to those whose life to God was given. Gladly to earth their eyes they close to open them in heaven."
