| Notes for FREDERICO JOSE MARIA RONSTADT: The sons of Frederico and Guadalupe were, among other occupations, musicians.One of them was Gilbert Ronstadt who married Ruth Mary Copeman.A daughter of Gilbert and Ruth is performer and recording artist Linda Ronstadt. Frederico was known better by the name Fred.He was born on the Hacienda Las Delicias near Cananea, Sonora.The hacienda belonged to Ignacio Pesqueira, sometimes Governor of Sonora.It was located south of the community of Banamichi on the Sonora River. He spent his childood in Sonora, moving to Tucson at fourteen in 1882 to learn wagon making.His daughter Luisa remembered her father sitting under the grape arbor in the yard on summer evenings playing his guitar and singing old songs from Sonora.Around 1899 he and a group of his friends formed the Club Filarmonico de Tucson, one of the city's earliest orchestral groups. His daughter Luisa was an internationally know interpreter of Spanish song and dance in the 1930s, performing under the name Luisa Espinel.In 1946 the University of Arizona published its General Bulletin No. 10, a slim volume by Luisa Espinel called "Canciones de mi Padre,"It contained the songes Luisa had learned from the ones her father brought from Sonora. The Ronstadt house located at 607 North Sixth Avenue in Tucson was built by Fred in 1904 as a present for his new bride.Architect was Henry Trost, designer of many fine Tucson homes.It is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
